ELEPHANT YAM SABZI


INGREDIENTS :

1 lb Yam

Salt as per taster

1 tsp garam masala

1 tsp turmeric powder


For Grinding :

1 medium onion

1 medium tomato

1 clove garlic

1 piece ginger

1 Red chilly ( as per taste )

1 tbsp fennel seeds


For seasoning :

1 tbsp oil

1 tbsp mustard seeds

1 tbsp urad dal


METHOD :

* Remove the skin of the yam, cook them with little salt till done

* Take care that they are not over cooked .

* Let them cook and cut them into pieces

* Grind the items kept for grinding and keep it aside

* Heat a kadai and do the seasoning

* Pour in the grinded mixture , add salt , turmeric powder , garam masala

* Let it cook till the raw smell is gone

* Then add the yam pieces and stir gently

* Let it cook for 2-3 minutes

* Remove from heat, garnish as desired

* Serve with Hot rice !!
