KEERAI KOOTU


INGREDIENTS :


1 Bunch spinach chopped finely

1/2 cup moong dal

1/4 cup toordal

Salt as per taste

1 tsp turmeric powder


FOR GINDING :


2 Tbsp grated coconut

1 tsp cumin seeds

4-5 pepper corns

2 Red chillies


FOR SEASONING :


1 tbsp oil

1 tsp mustard seeds , urad dal

A pinch of asafoetida


METHOD :


* In a kadai boil the dals, spinach with salt and turmeric powder till very soft

* Stir in between

* Grind the coconut, etc with little water

* Add it to the spinach mix , let it boil

* Remove from heat and transfer to serving bowl

* In a kadai heat the oil and prepare the seasoning

* Pour it over the spinach mix

* Serve with hot rice !!
